"Sailboat sails spend their lives on the water, catching the wind and carrying boats across the sea. Instead of retiring that sail to a landfill, we repurpose the sailcloth in our workshop on the working waterfront in Portland, Maine. Each sail is cleaned, cut, and sewn by hand. Because every sail has its own history on the water, no two bags are exactly alike. You may notice marks from its life at sea - we call these character marks. To prepare each Sea Bag for its next adventure, we finish it with locally sourced materials like hand-spliced rope handles, ensuring that all Sea Bags are rugged - like the sails they began their journey as."
